Glass and glazing industry turn to the Insight Index

Launched on January 9th 2012, the Insight Index is already changing the landscape of the glass and glazing industry.

The Index is the new supplier directory, product finder and search engine for suppliers of windows, doors, conservatories, building plastics, glass and components as well as related industry suppliers such as machinery, software and services.

Over 500 suppliers are already listed on the Insight Index, including many suppliers who have taken a premium listing. Spectus Window Systems were the first systems company to sign up quickly followed by high profile fabricator Lister Trade Frames, Yale and Window Widgets, who highlight their range of innovative products including the Werbar thermal reinforcement.

Residence 9, the new window system from Dan Gill at Eclectic Systems, is also showcased on the Insight Index, while one of the world’s leading suppliers of warm edge spacer bar, Technoform Glass Insulations (TGI) has used the Index ‘Featured Product’ to highlight the advanced thermal and productivity improvements that the TGI warm edge spacer bar offers.

Several companies are using the Insight Index to raise their profile across the window and conservatory industry, such as Suffolk-based aluminium fabricator Multi-Fab, trade depot chain Sun Trade Windows and specialist vertical sliding sash fabricator Roseview Windows, who manufacture three VS systems – Eurocell, Rehau and Charisma.

The Insight Index has been developed by the UK’s leading supplier of prospect data and market intelligence for the fenestration industry, and is backed by a major advertising campaign using national press advertising, direct mail and email marketing. Leading window industry trade magazines have carried extensive editorial coverage including Windows Active Magazine, Glass and Glazing Products (GGP) and Glass Times Magazine, while Clearview Magazine was chosen exclusively as the only regional trade title and Glass News as the industry’s newspaper.

Helen Costeloe-Hughes, commercial director at Insight Data, commented “the marketing strategy involves driving window industry visitors to the Index, rather than simply relying on search traffic as other online directories do. Focus has been on relevance rather than volume, although we are delighted to report over 22,000 pageviews in the first 8 weeks.

Momentum is building across the industry for the Insight Index, with over 500 suppliers now listed. In the last week alone Sash UK, Selecta Systems and Truframe have all signed up to premium listings, while window industry software supplier First Degree Systems has booked a high profile product feature to showcase its new Window Designer 7 (WD7) software.

“We are welcoming new, high profile suppliers to the Insight Index every day now, from leading systems companies like Synseal and Rehau to specialist component suppliers” adds Helen.
